It actually looks better than it does on the new First Choice add on tv and looked lovely with all the christmas lights . We felt last years Thompsons brochure did not do the hotel justice . We have stayed in lots of all inclusives and this is one of the nicest. The area is lovely with a nice walk in to Los Gigantes takes about 1/2 hour but nice walk. The beach is about 10 minutes away it's a black beach but we liked it . Watch the First Choice add on Itv. [Hide]

This is the second time i have visited the complex in 3 months, and I want to go again! I cannot stress how amazing this hotel is.

I first visited in September when the full HV programme was on as it was still part of the summer season. My second visit was the beginning of December.

Rooms
Each time i went, I had the same type of room - a suite which sleeps up to 4. Very spacious, nice design, nice touch with the TVs. Overlooking the pools, High Floors. Mini bar which was always topped up. When i went a week ago, they knew it was my birthday so put a bottle of wine in there as a nice extra touch.
Bathroom was spacious - Maids did an excellent job.

Pools
2 Pools - Relaxing pool, and an activity pool. Went with friends so were around the activity pool. Enough sunbeds - but did put towels down in the morning just in case as it was so busy!! So much to do around the pool in the day time - obstacle courses, aqua fit, waterpolo! Music is on, pool bar open from 10am! Can't get bored around the pool!

Food
Buffet restaurant - Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner - always a choice. Wasnt a day which i didnt have anything to eat, or i didnt enjoy my food. Food was always cooked properly and tasted fresh. Waiters/Waitresses excellent. Staff in restaurant always keeping an eye on the food and making sure it is topped up when needed.

Luabay Entertainment
Day time entertainment absolutley fantastic - so much to do for adults and for children! Evening entertainment fantastic - Limbo, Tribute Acts, Magic shows, and even a show with snakes!

Overall - the Luabay Costa Los Gigantes was amazing, i couldnt fault it. I cant wait to go back! I recommend the luabay cocktail and the san francisco with vodka cocktail! You cant go wrong! The Luabay team are so friendly, whether its the managers, the reception staff or the animation team. It was my birthday while i was out there as well, they really made it special with champagne and cake!

100% would recommend this! [Hide]

Had a fantastic weeks holiday in the costa los gigantes, it really was worthwhile. We were checked in quickly by a very friendly receptionist and given a ride in a golf buggy to our room. Our room was in block O on the far side, on the ground floor. We found the room spacious and very clean. The beds were also very comfy, especially the sofa bed, I wanted to take it home with me! As we arrived late, we went down to dinner. It was a fair walk, but not too long. When we got there we were quickly seated, our drinks were given to us quickly and efficiently and we went to go check out the buffay. There was plenty of food, and all of it hot, no worries about the plates, they are all warmed, unless you pick up a salad plate. I saw some recent complaints about the food being too cold or lukewarm. Its because its traditional, but no worries, I found the food to be piping hot. The next day we went down to the pool, throughout the week we tried out all of the pool areas. The main pool, was quite busy, but its fine for catching some rays and swimming. Personally I thought the far pool was the best, it was quieter, as there were no children with inflatables smouldering the pool. The evening entertaining wasn't exactly brillient, but its not as bad as people have been saying it is. Give it a try, you never know you might just enjoy it!

Just a few pointers, If you don't really want to be walking alot, this hotel may not be the best for you, as it is rather big, it took us about 10 minutes to get to the resturant from our room.

If you don't like kids, definately not the best place for you, there were everywhere, but they weren't too much of a hassle. From what I saw, the kids club is brillient, I saw them making some cookies.

If you are a parent with young children, I would be very careful about children running about, the amount of children who had broken bones several days after they had arrived was shocking! They had all slipped on the marble floors and broken there arms and legs. It was very careless, I saw some children running around with their arms in the arm, in only their socks on marble floor. It was an accident waiting to happen!

But all in all, I had a fantastic holiday, and we WILL come back again!

Mini Bowling alley, Cinema, Outdoor play area, Kids club.
My 4 year old and 6 month old had a great time and i would heartily recommend this hotel.
We had 1 or 2 problems with our room but all were quickly seen to with no quibbles or problems from the staff.

Other couples with kids that we met seemed to share the same experience.

Also had a great Gym

Everything I read about the good quality of rooms, cleanliness and staff I agree with and I would recommend it to anyone, but particularly families.

The dining arrangements however are limited. They are for eating only and not to be combined with comfort, relaxation or enjoyment. Serried ranks and files of tables in an enormous buffet, serving varied but often lukewarm food. Or one a la Carte area with fixed menues, some items of which seemed to be very similar to the luncheon buffet.
(Not all dining areas were open in mid March)

Were the the management (with whom I have the highest regard) to consider there is room for change and improvement in these areas it would, in my opinion, raise this hotel to the highest level of 4* hotels.

We have just returned from a weeks holiday on Fri 18th Feb 2010. Had a good time apart from the slightly mixed weather. The hotel is modern and very clean, we thought our one bed apartment/hotel room was very nice and a good size. The free mini bar was a bonus and the views off the balcony was fab. The pools were really good, one is warmer than the other with a good choice of drinks from the pool bar. Bar snacks were only available from the other pool bar though. My two kids were kept entertained by the activities and the hotel kids club was really good however they didn't spend much time in their due to being in the pool. A nice feature for the kids is a really new soft play area and mini golf which they loved. We only ate once in the a la carte due to us having a 7 month old and it was ok, nothing special but its nice to be waited on. The buffett restaurant had plenty of choice but it came a little bit boring at the end of the week. One point to make was that 3 of us were sick during the holiday. Nothing serious just tummy troubles however we all tended to eat different things so not saying it was deffinatly the food but i know a few people in the hotel were struggling a little on that front. You get use of the fabulous spa for a session. My wife had a massage as well on Valentines. Just remember you have to use your spa voucher within 2 days of arrival. If you want to go out it is quite hilly so be prepared but los gigantes is beautiful. The best thing about the hotel is that the you get champagne on tap day and night!!

I was in Tenerife for 8 days for cycling training and had chosen this hotel for the very good pricing and excellent reviews and location. Booking directly transport was included, and they had everything set up properly also for the bycicles, most often a nuissance when taking a taxi to/from the airport.

Location and view are marvelous, facility and staff very friendly I really felt welcome. We had two single rooms which were very large and they let us bring our bikes to the room, even if via email they had said it was not possible.

Lunch is possible untile 3:30 pm, as long as you get in by that time you can eat. This was great for us given that we were out on our bikes for 6/7 our each day. Food plentyful, could be of better quality but overall value as said was excellent given the price paid.

I will certainly go back.

This is a spacious hotel perfect for families as there are are facilities for everyone to enjoy. The best feature is the rooms which are well fitted out and comfortable. However, the electrics are a bit dodgy - we lost power twice and on the second occasion had to move rooms for the night as the problem could not be fixed until next morning. After chasing up the electrician, who had reported to reception that he had done the job when in fact the lights still did not work, he managed to get everything up and running. To be fair, reception handled the situation pretty well overall and was a good test of the hotel when things go wrong.

The food is definitely the weak point, as though there is a good range available the menu is repetative and hot food luke warm at best. The saving grace is the grill, where the food is fresh cooked using quality ingredients. Why hotels don't fit out their buffets in a suitable way to keep food hot is a mystery - it's not rocket science. The plates were supposed to be warmed by putting them in sunken areas where hot air was blown from a small vent. The system was virtually useless as only the top plate in a stack was warmed and only on one side. Regarding the sickness problem mentioned by a previous contributor, I suffered twice with vomiting, but this may not have been the food but rather the pool, where young children below the minimum age were taken in by their parents despite the rules. As children of this age are notoriously unhygenic it would be easy to catch a virus. My advice would be to play safe and avoid swimming. I wish I had done so as my holiday was ruined by the two bouts of illness.

On the plus side, the gym is the best I have seen in a hotel. It includes 10 new spinning bikes and is now open till 1900 hours (and is free).

Having never had a winter break my partner and i decided to go to Tenerife for a short break. Neither of us had ever been to Tenerife before. After lots of research we chose to go to the Los Gigantes area as we prefer "quieter locations " for our holidays.

The hotel was fantastic = two large rooms with satellite tv in each ! very clean, a mini bar stocked daily with beer, water ,coke and fanta - included in the price of the all inclusive !

Food was excellent with lots of choice and and every day ,lunch and eveining fresh meat
and/or fish cooked to order.Staff very friendly and polite.

It was only a 15 min walk to the port-very steep hill on the way back though ! only 3 euro back up in a taxi though. Fantastic views to the island of Gomera- amazing sunsets,
Would defintley go there again.

I’ve spent a week in Costa Los Gigantes Hotel at the beginning of November. Hotel is nicely situated. The beach is 3 minutes downhill, but coming back was not a problem for me, although I’m not very fit ;). Beach is very nice, with dark sand, but guarded, quiet at this time of the year. You can find plenty of shops, restaurants, pharmacies nearby (but no nightclubs or discos). Marina is about 20 minutes walk (taxi approximately 3 Euros) . You can walk to Los Gigantes turning left after leaving the main entrance, or turning right when leaving the rear (co called south) entrance – I preferred this way, because you can walk along nice hotels, lovely bars etc, which look nice especially by night.
Hotel is quite new, well maintained. We got a suit in block M, which I thing was a very good position. Windows overlooked main pool and ocean (view on La Gomera is stunning!). Suit consists of bedroom with king-size bed, spacious wardrobe, flat TV, very nice bathroom, and second room with coach, another TV, table and chairs. Suit is spacious, clean, very comfortable – I really appreciated the space, sometimes even in five star hotel it’s too tight for two, but not in this one! Safebox was free of charge. Aircon was sufficient. The amenities like shampoo, soap was replaced. In wardrobe we found extra blankets and extra pillows. Mini bar is daily restocked with fanta, sprite, coke, beer and bottled water – which was important for me, as I couldn’t fine bottled water anywhere else in the hotel.
Food was good, of course little bit repetitive, but it’s normal in all all inclusive hotels, it’s also normal when you get such a variety every day, so I think it’s just hard for stuff to think of something new. I think even fussy eater will find something for himself. I enjoyed champagne and caviar for breakfast, that was a treat! Only thing I can complain, some dishes were usually not hot enough or sometimes even undercooked. But overall I always found something delicious for me. I was nicely surprised by the variety and quality of snacks in poolbar (sandwiches, french-fries, pizza, chicken, salads, pasta etc). Three meals in theme restaurant were included, but I didn’t try one, because I was happy with main restaurant.
Evening animation shows were poor, but no problem for me, as I’m used to it, and don’t rely on hotel to provide me evening entertainment. I suggest leaving the hotel and a walking to nearest bars. To be honest I watched one show and had thought it’s so poor that even funny!
Hotel spa is a must. One circuit is included, next entrance is 10Euros, but absolutely worth, I really enjoyed floatation pool, don’t miss it!
Stuff is very nice, friendly, always willing to help. They call a taxi every time when needed, arrange an excursion, give tips what’s worth seeing.
Pools are clean, towels were exchanged every day. Wi-fi in main lobby is free. You can find a small shop in hotel (with inflatable, sunscreen, souvenir). As I don’t have kids yet, I can’t say anything about kids club, but I saw a playground for them, and saw special “crew” taking care of kids.
All in all, hotel is spotless, and absolutely worth staying in, so don’t hesitate and book it!
Remember, that the island is beautiful itself, so it’s worth leaving hotel for some time. I was in loro park –which is a must especially if you have children. But best thing was a dolphin trip. Go to marina or take a taxi and choose best boat. You can check telephone numbers on marina website before leaving to Tenerife, then just call them to make reservation. I’ve chosen Flippero Uno – pirate ship. Seeing free dolphins playing and jumping was great experience, don’t forget to take binoculars!
If you had any questions concerning hotel or island just write me!

Being a regular user of tripadvisor to determine where we go I am finally positing my first review as it is the people whi write the reviews that enable the rest of us to decide where to go.
The Costa LG is a really nice hotel. Having young kids we have gone to tenerife now every October for the last 4 years. Before kids we did a lot of travelling and stayed in nice places allover the world. Generally I have found AI in Europe to be left wantng in terms of standard of food drink and entertainment and facilities. However not the Costa LG. The food is great, mainly buffet yes. However every night they have a meat and fish grill cooked to order with good quality fish and meat. The a la cartes are also good. In fact the steak I had at the steak night i have had worse at good restaurants.
The drink on offer is OK.
The rooms are very spacious and clean. Comfortable too.
The Gym is great although the only gripe here is that it should open much earlier than 11.
3 great pools and never an issue to get a lounger. Lots of space around the pools.

Never had to really queue to be served for anything other than Omlettes at breakfast, cooked to order obviously so no probs with a 2 min wait.

The only downside to the hotel is location at the top of the hill. Also a positive if having a drink watching sunset over los Gigantes bay, beautiful views. However if going into the village a 5 min downhill walk you have a good 10-15 min walk back up a steep hill. I'm fit and ran 3 miles a day while on holiday as I was training for an event on my return but the hill was hard work pushing a pram at night after a few glasses of wine.

That said we only felt the need to leave the hotel 1 in our weeks stay because everything was on hand, the food was good and it was so relaxing just chilling around this lovely hotel.
I may even go again next year.

Good;

Not so Good;
the timings - i.e. the mini disco didn't start untill 8.30pm I thought this was a little late for the younger kids, also the buffet didn't open untill 7pm which again was a bit late for a hotel marketed at families.
the food was a bit repetative and warm enough for my 15 month old to eat straight away so possibly a bit cool for many, although there were microwaves to use.

The hotel changed hands the day after we arrived and some of the advertised things like baby sitting and scuba diving sessions weren't available so don't rely on what the brochure may tell you that you can have.

Overall good though and we would return 'at the right price'

We have just returned, yesterday from this hotel having spent a wonderful half-term holiday there. We were a family with a 13 year old girl and a 7 year old boy, which is usually a problem to find something for them both, plus a mum who likes to relax by the pool and a dad who is up for most things, this hotel managed to suit us all. I think everyone else has said it all about load of sunbeds, though watch out for those great people who arrive before breakfast to put out their towels! there are always some aren't there.

One little tip, we spent the first couple of days thinking you had to go to the snack bar if you were in your swim stuff rather than go in for the buffet lunch by the pool as everyone seemed to be dressed up, but acually it didn't matter at all, we just pulled on our T-shirts and shorts and went in anyway and it seemed lots of others did the same, we just sat at the back where we couldn't be seen poolside. (May have left some damp seats behind if we had just come out of the pool).

We took a walk into Los Gigantes itself, if you leave via the front entrance and turn left you will come to a roundabout, take the last exit (straight on or right if you like) and follow on down, after a while there is a footpatch down on the left hand side which you can take and then wander on down through to the marina - about a half hour walk, a taxi back was 3 euros and really a must especially for those people who thought the walk back from Playa Arena was steep! We took a boat trip out to see the dolphins and whales it was really worth it, and buying the tickets in the town saved us about half off the leaflet price. All the tavernas were empty which was a shame, apparantly due to the many "all inclusive" hotels now in the area. Must confess we took our water with us from the hotel as prices are quite high as the £ is so weak at the moment, but it was a shame to see so many empty little businesses.

Would go back tomorrow if we could.

What can I say, well, we arrived and were issued with our room keys and various bits of info and then taken by golf buggy to our rooms. We had requested a pool/sea view which we got (we alwyas ask for this but this is the 1st time its ever been honored) and balcony which was wonderfull. It was around 2:30pm so quite peckish, we unpacked and went straight to the dinning room. We had a lovely lunch and made our way to the pool. We easily found a set of 4 sun beds, there were loads of free ones. We had some towel tokens so we got 4 more big beach towels, you can change them everyday if you want to!!

The 1st week we spent virtually chilling out around the pools, our 2 girls, Lucy & Charlotte made some lovely friends aswell, Kate, Hattie, Maisy and another Charlotte who they played with for the 2 weeks we were together. There is a water slide at one end of the pool which has a lifeguard on at all times. They clean the pools everyday aswell plus lifeguards are very prominent at all pools.

The food was fantastic, I love that cold tomatoe soup that you put onion, peppers and chopped cucumber in, well they had tonnes of it, yummy plus every type of meat/vegetable/sauce/carbohydrate you can get - piles and piles of food. The alcohol is also on tap, we only had the white wine but they did rose and red and also cava. The pool bars also stocked cocktails and beer and shorts so if you wanted to you could drink all day every day. We didn't cos we have 2 young girls so not advisable. Even so we enjoyed a few at night!!

The entertainment team were unbelievably fantastic and never looked grumpy or tired. They come out at approx. 10am with the hotel dance routine, Uno, Dos , Tres then they continued throughout the day with various poolside and pool activities, namelt water polo, darts crazy golf, pistol shooting, chess, etc etc. There was also a kids club if you wanted but ours didn't fancy it as they had made friends. Michelle, the aqua gym man was I'd say in his early 40's plus the others made up a team of about 8 of them. They were all brilliant.

At nighttime there was a different act on for the full 2 weeks! some of the best were, Mamma Mia, the Luminous puppet show, Take that and co, and the flamenco dances with an authentic Spanish guitarist. They also did Bingo nights and quiz nights where you could win glasses of champagne which we did.

I took my own travel kettle as I can't go without my cup of tea first thing but there were no cups in the room so I just took 2 from the bar area and got some milk for the dining room in an empty water bottle and I brought my own tea bags!

We went on 2 trips, to Mount Teidi which was unmissable and Siam Park which if you like water rides then gr8 but I hate them so it was just another day on the sunbed for me!!

Our room was spotless and cleaned every day, Our toilet kept breaking but it was fixed within 30mins of us reporting it.

Just returned from our best holiday ever, and we have been to Tenerife over 30 times now. We were planning to go to he Bahia Principe in Adeje, but the Clear Blue Seas team recommended The Costa Hotel Los Gigantes. Wow! we were so glad we had. The hotel is just massive with 4 pools one with slide over. The food was best ever and split over a choice of restaurants. But the entertainment staff are just amazing, they run kids club, teenager and adult, the activites are really fun and different my son made some great friends and won lots of
diplomas! At night it is the best holiday entertainment we have seen, from Glam Rock & Beetles tribute bands, magic...not the normal singing and dancing boring stuff. If you are going to Tenerife make sure you pay this hotel a visit. It also has kids room with bowling, air hockey, pool and machine etc. A kids cinema that shows a film every night with popcorn! The mini bar is refilled everyday as the hotel is AI, the rooms are the biggest we have ever stayed in, 2 master bedrooms with large bathroom and more wardrobe space than you need. On the AI drinks are great for adults and kid plus slushes and ice cream all day for kid, food in snack bar round pool great with salad bar as well. We could of gone to the a la carte restaurant 3 nights, but the food was that good in the main restaurant we never bothered. It also has a spa as well which is great for a bit of me time, 18 hole mini golf outdoor kids play area and tennis courts. A great family holiday. The staff from the moment we got there to the time we left could not do enough to make our stay just amazing.

There is a pool with a slide, a pool with activities (inflateable like boats and air beds allowed) and a quiet pool ( no inflatables only swimmimg aides). There are also 2 small paddling pools for really young children. Everything has been thought about and if it hasn't then the manageress is happy to listen to ideas as she wants her hotel to be the best it can be. Very helpful unassumimg staff. (all staff were excellent and helpful). One afternoon my boys were having a lie down when the cleaner called so she went away and i thought that was that BUT she returned much later when we were at our evening meal to change the towels and clean the floors etc. WOW!! i did not expect that. They even have 2 cards that you can put on your door saying please make up room or do not disturb this means that room will be made up at YOUR convenience and not theirs. The suite also has two air condition controls one for each room so if the kids like a different temp to you then it can be to everyones taste. The food in all areas was superb. Lots of choices and variations. (You did not see the leftovers from breakfast disguised as lunch like other all inclusives) everything was fresh and hot. the pool bars are open from 10am and serve drinksand ice cream til 6pm (you can help yourself to wine, larger, soft drinks, hot drinks and many flavours of slush). We went with my parents so there were 4 adults and no-one said to us that it was only 2 drinks at a time. My dad and husband always reurned with 4 of everything; they made very good waiters. My sons helped themselves to drinks throughout the day. At the bottom of the complex there was a play area that was open at all times; it had a zip wire, play ground and soft play area (Springly land) a bit like Mr Twisters or other play area that usually charge by the hour. The evening entertainment was varied and usually entertaining and the hall where it was held was cool and comfortable. I still think the piano bar should have a piano in it and it should be played on an evening as light entertainment.
Tha Spa is a must. it is superb and i am looking forward to my return visit next year. I think the gym should open earlier because between 11am and 7pm i am busy sun bathing but i could fit it in at 8am ish.
The staff were really helpful and seemed to enjoy working at this hotel. This really is an all inclusive holiday that is all inclusive.

We have been to tenerife at least six times now and I must say that this was the best hotel we have stayed in so far. Travelled with husband and kids age 10 and 8. There was lots for kids to do although I must admit that the pool was enough. Food fantastic could easily put on a lot of weight if not careful. Children always found something to eat even though they are quite fussy. Spa was wonderful and could not fault staff in hotel in any way. Location is not brilliant if you have difficulty getting about as quite steep outside resort but if you just want a relaxing break then this is the ideal place. If there was anything I could fault I would have to say the comfort of the beds in room, they are very firm so be prepared if you are used to a medium control matress. Reception tried to be helpful by putting a blanket on top of matress but didn\'t really make that much difference. Other than that I would find it hard to pick many faults at all with this hotel and I would definately visit again, although I would make sure there was plenty of pillows for the bed.

We returned the early hours of Saturday morning (29th August 2009). What a fabulous time! Wonderful hotel. Great facilites, lots to do, friendly staff. What more could you want? The staff helped us to book a boat trip from Los Gigantes and arranged for the taxi to collect us. Only 3 euros. We went to Siam Park, which is fun for all the family. We hopped on the courtesy bus from the hotel which takes you to the sister hotel, Hotel Vulcano in Playa Americas, about 40 minutes, we then got a taxi the rest of the way, about 7 mins, again only 3 euros. We also went on a trip to Loro Parque, whales and dolphins give a fantastic show. Booked twin ticket with Tenerife Sunshine prior to going which was cheaper than using Thomas Cook rep.

Food was wonderful. Lots of choice. We ate in the buffet restaurant every night but you can book a la carte. Children loved it.

Animation team were good, entertainment was fun. Flamenco dancing one night, limbo, snake shows and glam rock tribute band.

There is an on site souvenir shop, games room and the hotel is very spacious. Springly land was excellent for younger children.

Plenty of sun beds, pools were really warm but then it was touching 34 most days.

Would definitely go back! Make sure you have a go in the spa, it's great. I would be happy to answer any questions.

Having checked trip adviser many times concerning reviews for this accommodation and having just returned from a 7night stay i can say that all the comments made by others are spot on.
We did ask for a room in block L as this overlooking the main pool and was right in the middle of the complex . Ideal area to be if like to be close to everything and can watch the entertainmet team playing games etc. This is also the pool that you can have lilos and other inflatables in as they are banned from the top pool so if you have older kids and sometimes watch them from the balcony then this is an ideal place to be.
We booked this hotel because of the size of the rooms and they were fantastic two large rooms one had a massive double bed the other was a lovely lounge area with a bed settee which my 6year old daughter loved. We had two balconies one at the front and one at the back . The mini bar was stocked daily with pop and beer and water which was a lovely touch. Maid service was fantastic and they seemed to clean at all times of the day. The tip from someone on trip adviser about leaving the do not disturb card in the air con slot when you went out to keep the air con working for your return was a good idea and we did that a lot.
The beach at play de la arena was not very good as the sea was rough and the beach sloped away steeply into the sea. We got taxis to los gigantes which were 3 euros from reception and the beach and town their were lovely for a change from the hotel. We also went on a two hour boat trip to sea the whales from los gigantes which was great fun and only 15 euros each and children free.
Hotel food was excellent something for everyone and the entertainment i thought was very good some nights better than others.
We would def go back and my daughter did not want to come home

After reading reviews on trip advisor for the past 4 years my hubby has convinced me to finally write one about this Hotel. We arrived on 10th July, after checking in and being a little disappointed at not getting a room near to the pool ( after sending numerous requests via e mail direct to the hotel) we were taken by a very nice young man on a buggy ( all 7 of us) to our room, the disappointment soon waived as we had a fab sea view and also a view over the village below the hotel. The rooms were lovely, and probably nicer than the standard rooms in a 5 star we had stayed in in cyprus, plenty of wardrobe space and very clean. I personally found the beds fine and my only complaint would be that the air conditioning was too cold, i had to get up most nights and turn it off!!
The hotel is very large but we never felt overcrowded, there were always plenty of sun beds avaliable and there were lots of open spaces with chairs and tables to sit at. There are lots of stairs as the hotel is built on different levels but if your lazy like we were you can just take the many lifts!!

There are two pool areas ( both large) one which has a snack bar and on tap drinks and which tended to be mostly families with young children and the other larger pool (saltwater) where all the daily activities were held. The Animacion team were great and very funny and didnt push you into joining in but most of our group did, especially with the water polo games. Everyday they had something going on aqua aerobics, polo, darts, ping pong etc. The games were staggered throughout the day and at some points there seemed to be no one in the pool! My kids loved the on tap slush puppies , we would have spent a fortune just on those!!! White, red and rose wine on tap as well as sangria beer and soft drinks then spirits served from the bar.

We had no problems at all with food, only that i got fed up of eating!!! Every lunch and dinner time there was steak, pork and different types of fish cooked on the grill, pasta, salads, cold meats, pates, cheeses, more fish, soups , paella, chips, vegetables, i could go on forever here .....and fab desseerts!!! We were always given bottles of wine and water and the children had cold drinks.

Our daughter went into the kids club a few times and the team in there were lovley. They took them down to the soft play area (covered) took them onto the mini golf, to the water slide where they all got clean towels and stopped at the bar for a soft drink on the way back. They did lots of things with them even face painting, and the cinema was a great idea. I have to say i felt my kids were very safe here there were only two ways into the hotel as it was all fenced off,one through recption and the other through a gate at the bottom of the hotel which had a security guard there and you could only get in or out with your door pass.

The entertainment was good, a few drab nights and a few fab nights! The seventies and tuxedo knights singers were great and had most people up dancing. There was also the usual parrot show and snake and bird show, but be warned they charge 20 euros for a picture!!! Highlight of the entertainment was the impromptu "full monty" dance from the animacion men and some of the guests!!! The info says that there is a nightclub but all that is is music played after the entertainment has finished. Only gripe in the entertainment hall was the miserable lady bar tender who would only give you two drinks at a time, a pain if there are 11 of you!!!

We had a few problems with the fridge not being filled up on a daily basis but after a couple of calls to reception that was sorted!! Also the rooms were not made up on a couple of days but no big deal really!

Overall i would say if you've got kids this would be a great holiday for you. I would definitley go back but maybe at the beginning of the school holidays as it seemed to be getting a little busier as time went on.

Yes we travelled with children but I would have absolutely no problem staying at this hotel without children. We thought it was great. We arrived at the hotel late at night, and unfortunately we didn't get a golf buggy to our rooms, we got some guy wheeling a concierge trolley round the world for a short cut, before he got us to our rooms eventually with a slight accident, (wheeling a trolley down a hill with 8 suitcases on board not a good idea, needless to say they all landed on the ground, him as well) the rooms were excellent, we then headed to the restauant for the snacks and drinks laid on for us, and retired to bed. Up early the next morning, not to much of the usual fight for the sun beds, but as our rooms were ground floor block M (111 and 119) these were excellent for just stepping out to the pool. The kids loved the pool if not a little deep for 8 year olds, but they can swim, the water slide was great as well and they loved it when it opened for a few hours a day. The self serve pool bar was excellent for slush, beer, wine, water etc but any thing need behind the bar like ice cream or spirits always seemed a botheration to the girl. The snack bar was a little to far away for us , the food was ok the usual salads, burgers, chips etc so we tended to eat in the Main buffet restaurant at the pool, were if you asked for two glasses of wine you always got a full bottle, the food was very good here and you always got seated. Dinner at nite is the same as most all inclusives and we've done quite a few around the Canary islands, the usual steak, chicken, pork etc, common sence tells you yes you will get fed up with the food, but as we only travel AI a week at a time you have to be sensible. The Weather was fantastic never under 30 degress for the full week and the hotel was spotless, the usual holiday evening entertainment, but as we like to sit at the pool as long as possible and go for dinner late, we didn't avail of this much, the main bar in the hotel is a bit like an airport terminal and you are limited to 2 drinks. Probably not the top AI we've been to in the Canaries, but i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone, and would travel back.

Stayed in this hotel from 26/06 to 03/07/09. Agree with all other reviews and comments. Rooms huge with 2 flat screen tv\'s (we plugged our portable dvd player in so our daughter could watch films) mini bar topped up daily, hairdryer and plenty of built in wardrobes. Maids came daily, although beds were only changed 3 times. Air conditioning only works when the patio doors are pulled closed, which makes sense really !

Kids club - fantastic ! Don\'t be put off if there are only very small children there for the mini disco as older children go during the day and at night time for the cinema showings. Staff in the kids club were fantastic and they did t.shirt painting, water slide, golf etc....our daughter and the friends she made really made use of the kids club leaving us adults to enjoy a meal and a few drinks in the evening! The timetable for kids club is outside the dinner hall on the first landing.

Computers are in the ground floor area and are ¤1 for 15 mins and ¤2 for half an hour. You can also get free wi-fi in this area if you have an iphone, laptop etc...

Food - something for everyone. Plenty of it and even in the day by the pool bar you can get a salad, burger, chips, slushie, coffee, hot chocolate, cola and lots more. Watch out for the measures of vodka - we ordered a vodka/lemonade and then a seperate lemonade to water it down a bit, but if you just ask, they will do you a weaker measure.

We asked for extra pillows and they were in our room before we knew it ! We also took a travel kettle and some sachets of coffee with milk in them for the room as there is no kettle provided, although there are drinks available if you went and asked for them.

We had a brilliant time and made some great friends who really made our holiday fantastic. We are hoping to go back again in September !!!

We arrived at the Los Gigantes Suites and Spa on 29th May 2009 for an 11 night holiday. We arrived quite late (around 11pm) with two young children so literally went straight to bed after check in. Check in was extremely smooth and the reception staff are excellent....they even told us that the restaurant has stayed open to accomodate us if we wanted to grab something to eat! After a couple of teething troubles with the room (we were overlooking a small building area) we were moved to a fantastic room overlooking the smaller of the main pools near the snack bar. The food throughout the holiday was no less than fantastic every day and night. We went to the a la carte twice....once for the fish and once for Italian...both were really good. The beach is approx 10 mins walk from the hotel however most of the rooms are sea view which is an added bonus...there is no shortage of sun beds or umbrellas so no need to get up at 6 to put out your union jacks!
The staff are all really friendly and helpful. They cant do enough for you. If you had any problems I am sure they would be dealt with quickly and efficiently.
The hotel rooms are brilliant for families travelling with two young children like us. We went with our 2 and half year old son and 10 month old daughter. The rooms are suites so have two rooms and a seperate bathroom...the main bedroom has two twin beds pushed together to make a queen sized bed and there is an LCD TV in there with dresser and various satellite channels (most Spanish but did have BBC World news). The other room which led onto our balcony had a double sofa bed, fridge, dresser, another LCD TV and table with four chairs. Our little boy was supposed to use this as his bed but we decided to have him in our room in a travel cot because thats what he asked for when he saw thats what his sister was sleeping in! Finally, the hotel has a fantastic spa within its grounds which wach adult was entitled to a free 2hour session. This was an amazing facility and only cost 10 euro if you wanted to pay to go again.

Overall we could not fault the holiday. After 11 nights we still did not want to come home, however, as the hotel is quite new it was only about 30 - 40% full so this obviously makes a difference...it would be interesting to see how busy it becomes when it is at capacity. All that said we will definitely be booking for same time next year. I would class this hotel as 5* not the meager 4 stated in the brochures.

Just returned from this fantastic hotel.
Do not want to repeat what others have already said but just wanted to confirm that this hotel is just great-everything about it is just first class-we had no complaints whatsoever.

For those of you that are still concerned about the letters you received about building work please do not worry. I also received a letter from Thomas Cook giving me the option to move hotel because of building work in the area but it does not affect you or your holiday at all. You can see a couple of cranes and they are putting roofs on a nearby new apartment block but there is honestly no noise at all-DO NOT MOVE HOTEL!

We were there during May half term and the hotel was very quiet although it did get busier with spanish people at the weekend although it still was not even half full.

I have to mention the staff because they are all so pleasant and helpful.

The Italian restaurant is worth a visit but be warned the portions are huge.

Will definetly be returning very soon.

If Sandy, Ruby and Sisley see this review do not forget to get in touch!!

This hotel is nothing short of fantastic, I could write pages but I'll try and keep to some headings.

Hotel in General: Clean, Luxuriously furnished, Beautiful Gardens, Helpful & Efficient Staff. Well located - a short walk from the front door to Costa Los Gigantes (but get a taxi back! only 3 euros!), a shorter walk from the back door into playa la arena where the beach is. Both nice quiet resorts.

Pools: Big, Warm with plenty of sunbeds and beach towels included.

Food: Excellent, althought there are a'la'carte restaurants we never used them as the buffet restaurants were so good. Champagne & Caviar at breakfast - need I say more.

Rooms: Spacious & well furnished with minibar stocked daily with beer (and its good premium beer at that), coke, fanta & water.

Kids facilities: The best I have seen at any hotel - anywhere! A massive outdoor Jungle Jims (under cover) with other slides & swings and a zip wire & pool slide exclusive to the kids club. The indoor kids club has a large area for arts & crafts, a full disco with top light & sound system, a full I.T suite and a Cinema, complete with raked seating, big screen & surround sound.

Kids Club: For 4 and above, although younger can join in if accompanied by a parent. Our daughter loved this, the staff are great and there is a wide range of activites.

Spa: didn't use it but those who did raved about it.

I could go on but I'll leave it there, happy to answer any questions if anyone needs more info.

We visited this excellent hotel during May half term week and couldnt find fault. The hotel is very spacious throughout, from large modern family suites, through to restaurants ,bars and pool areas.
The food in all restaurants and snack bars is excellent, always plenty of choice and HOT. We visited the italian A La Carte once and was very impressed with the quality and size of portions.
We found the entertainment program for both adults and children excellent. Usually, all inclusive hotels have their animacion teams dancing and miming to things like Grease or HSM. Here there were professional shows each night with tribute shows to Elvis, The Beatles, Ricky Martin/Enrique and a Glam Rock group to name a few. Our 7 year old daughter absolutely loved the kids entertainment/facilities and did not want to come home.
The location of this hotel is actually quite good with a short walk downhill to playa la arena from the bottom gate of this hotel.
To summarize, I feel Spring Hoteles have produced a high quality family all inclusive resort which i'm sure will become extremely popular once word gets around how good this hotel actually is.
